Terms of Use
Last updated: 1 May 2026
1. Who may use MedMaster
MedMaster is intended exclusively for current students and staff of the University of Otago. Accounts may only be created using a University of Otago email address (@student.otago.ac.nz or @otago.ac.nz). You must not share your account or allow others to use it.
2. Content and intellectual property
All lesson text, flashcards, practice questions, and model answers on MedMaster are original study materials created by the site operator. They are not official University of Otago course materials, exam papers, or mark schemes, and are not endorsed by the University.
You may use the content for your own private study and research. You may not copy, redistribute, publish, or make the content available to others — including uploading it to note-sharing websites — without written permission.
If you believe any content infringes a copyright you hold, please contact privacy@medmaster.app and we will investigate promptly.
3. Academic integrity
MedMaster is a study aid, not a shortcut. Using AI-generated model answers as your own submitted work in University assessments may constitute academic dishonesty under the University of Otago Academic Integrity Policy. You are responsible for understanding and complying with that policy. MedMaster accepts no liability for academic integrity violations.
4. Medical disclaimer
Content on MedMaster is written for educational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice and must not be used to guide clinical decisions. Always consult current clinical guidelines, your supervising clinician, or the relevant specialist.
5. Accuracy
While we aim for accuracy, MedMaster content may contain errors or become out of date as guidelines change. We make no warranty as to the correctness or completeness of any material. Report errors to privacy@medmaster.app.
6. AI features
MedMaster uses AI models (including Google Gemini) to grade SAQ and essay responses. AI grading is indicative only — it is not a substitute for official marking and may be inaccurate. You consent to your submitted answers being sent to Google for grading when you use these features; you may withdraw consent at any time via the Privacy Notice.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Attempt to scrape, copy, or systematically download content.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or probe the platform's security.
- Use the service in any way that disrupts access for other users.
- Create multiple accounts or accounts on behalf of another person.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or if your University of Otago email address is no longer active. You may delete your account at any time via profile settings.
9. Liability
MedMaster is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the platform or its content.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be notified by email where possible.
